looking on, weighing in, seeing out, signing off

A
nd here we are. My final post. It's four years almost to the day of my first Style Of Eye post (telephones - July 30th, 2007). It's time to assess it all, and time to move on. It's been fun, but the time is right to release my gaze. But not before one last post. It makes perfect sense to select my favourite 24 Style Of Eye posts.
In the four years since I began blogging about my ocular aesthetics, about what fit my style of eye, what appealed visually to me, countless other similarly-themed blogs have surfaced, many of them can be found under the "blogspot" umbrella. My initial reason in doing Style Of Eye was to indulge an alter-ego, my inner aesthetic, and to have the opportunity to exhibit the kinds of man-made designs and natural curves, of light and shadow, line and form, that have interested and aroused me. But now I feel I've done my dash, I've exhibited all I can, and there are more than enough other similarly-styled blogs and sites on the Net.
As I was reviewing all the posts I've done I discovered to my surprise that I had repeated myself. My last post - the debate battle - was my second "porn stars" selection. I thought it was my first. I had completely forgotten I had already posted a selection. The time to move on has definitely arrived. I've made my selection of favourite selections, excluding the post my favourite things, because that one speaks for itself, and is the favourite of favourites, the penultimate Style Of Eye post.
I've provided links to the respective posts (click on the respective post title), and I've selected a favourite image from each to represent. Like I said, it's been fun and indulgent, but the inspiration and inclination to post regularly has waned over the past year or so, and I've found myself relying on the simple allure of models and celebrities for the last few posts. Raoul z. Duke's time as visual provocateur is up.
But just who is Raoul z. Duke exactly? Well, that would be telling now wouldn't it? A little mystery goes a long way. Let's just say that "All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream" and leave it at that (wink wink, nudge, nudge)
This is the mischievous rascal señor Raoul z. Duke signing off. I hope my clarification of visual forms and their organization in integrated patterns as well as the attribution of such forms as an opinionated appreciation of visual aesthetics has been as much your cup of green tea as it has mine. Ciao bella!
If style is the music of swagger, schmooze eternally forward ...
